HEAT AND MODES OF TRANSMISSION OF HEAT

HEAT: it is the form of energy which is                         capable of doing work or motion.

MODES OF TRANSMISSION OF HEAT

There are three modes of transmission of heat,

1) CONDUCTION

2) CONVECTION

3) RADIATION

1) CONDUCTION:

It is the process in which heat travels from ones particle to another particle of the body without any visible motion in the direction from high temperature to low temperature. Generally solid bodies are heated by this process.

2) CONVECTION:

It is the process in which heat travels from one part of the body to another by actual motion of the heated particles. Generally liquid and gases are heated by this process.

3) RADIATION:

It is the process in which heat travels from one point to another in straight lines without heating the medium through which it passes. The heat of the sun reaches to us by radiation.
